How to calm your mind and relax your body

Choose one of the below that suits you and practice it in case of stress.

MOVE: In case of danger or stress (fight, flight,freeze state), animals often stiffen (you must have seen a beetle or bird freeze,they pretend not to be there and might think that way they are not noticed), but after the danger has passed, they immediately shake the tension out. Unfortunately,many times we don’t even notice that our body stores and carries for a longtime many tensions both physical and mental. It is proven that if our body relaxed it sends a signal to the brain to relax and vice versa.

The simplest exercise: strain and relax your muscles, either at the same time or separately each part of the body, e.g., shoulders, legs, or you can even grimace. Repeat this a couple of times.

Jump, dance, exercise, run, do yoga really no matter how you move, come out of the tension.

Breath, Inhale and exhale deeply and slowly five times.Try this with one hand on your belly and the other on your heart, it's very soothing.

Ground yourself: lie down on the ground, or if you don't have the opportunity, sit down with both soles touching the ground and your back straight. Feel the weight of your body on the ground or on the chair, feel the gravity pulling you down, feel the weight of your clothes, see yourself taking root toward the depths of the earth. Spend a few minutes like this.

Listen to music, hum, sing!

Say a reassuring affirmation, prayer, mantra.

Think of someone who calms you down, with whom you feel safe.

Touch, hug someone you love, person or animal, massage your hands, ears, face to rise your oxytocin level.
