In Chinese five element theory the metal is associated with autumn and with the organs and meridians: Lungs and Large intestine. Although physically the Lungs and Large Intestine are not connected, they share the same energetic characteristics as absorption, filtering, using nutrition and removing waste.
Emotions associated with autumn: Acceptance / Sadness.
The teaching of the seasons is to realize the impermanence of all (situations, thoughts, events) and let go of things. If you do not let go, do not accept the things they are you get sad.
Be like trees that willingly let go of their leaves to survive winter.
Transformation is both the nature and symbol of autumn, metal element. Once you let go of your protective layers, understand who you are, you will rediscover your potential and actualize your goals.
